Drafts, voice, free limits, and how paid packs fit a job search, without the fluff. Click a question to expand.
What is Klaro?
Klaro is a job-search outreach app that writes cold emails in your voice and saves them as Gmail drafts. You review and send from Gmail. It is not an ATS, not a job board, and it never sends mail for you.
Does Klaro send emails for me?
No. Klaro only creates Gmail drafts. You review, edit, and send from Gmail when it sounds like something you’d actually write.
How is Klaro different from ChatGPT?
Blank ChatGPT doesn’t know your voice, your resume, or the job. Klaro uses a voice profile plus the posting and recipient, then lands the draft in Gmail with a tracker attached. You still hit send.
Why do I sign in with Google?
Google sign-in is just your Klaro account. The first time you connect Gmail, Google asks for draft permission. Klaro keeps that connection in an httpOnly cookie on your device so you don’t reconnect every hour. Tokens are not saved in Klaro’s database, and Klaro cannot send mail for you.
Do I need my own Gemini / AI API key?
No. AI runs on Klaro’s shared key. You never paste a key in the app.
What’s free?
You get 20 generates per day for free, enough to try the full loop (voice, generate, Gmail draft, tracker). No card required.
What counts as one generate?
One Generate (or Revise) uses one credit when you’re on paid credits or metering. Free daily generates don’t use pack credits. Each generate produces multiple short email options you can pick from.
How do credit packs work?
Buy a one-time pack (Starter $12 / 50, Sprint $19 / 150, Search $29 / 400). Credits never expire. Packs are cheaper per email than metered overtime (Sprint ≈ $0.13 each).
What’s pay-per-email / metered billing?
Optional, off by default. When you’re out of pack credits, you can turn on metering in Settings and pay $0.39 per generate. No spend cap: if you’d rather run overtime than buy a pack, that’s your call. You’ll see the rate and period total clearly.
What do I get when I pay?
Beyond extra capacity: bypass the daily free cap (with credits or metering), 5 variants instead of 3, smarter revise presets, one-click follow-up from Tracker, and credits that never expire.
How much writing do I need for a voice profile?
About 400 words unlocks voice generation (a few past emails). More is better until roughly 5,000 words, past emails beat random essays. You can start thin and strengthen later.
What should I paste for the best drafts?
A full job description (paste beats URL scrape), recipient name + email, and one specific hook, a product, team detail, or why you’re emailing a human. Thin context tips appear on Generate when the hook is missing.
Is my resume / writing private?
Your materials stay in your account for generating your drafts. Klaro isn’t a public job board. See the Privacy page for cookies, Gmail access, and subprocessors. Don’t paste secrets you wouldn’t store in a normal productivity app.
Can I edit the email after generating?
Yes. Edit in Klaro and changes debounce-sync to the same Gmail draft. Or edit only in Gmail. Tracker still keeps the outreach logged.
